Time Out DXB

Apr 6th 2022

No month is more filled with the joys of spring than April, when we’re all finally settled into the swing of the year and ready for all the exciting things to come. It’s also the time we start to crave lighter dishes; think delicious wraps, salads, poke bowls and dishes packed full of colour and goodness. Here’s what you should be ordering at DXB this month.

FIX
Can anything sparkle with the flavours of spring more than a Thai noodle salad? Light, fragrant and utterly moreish, tuck into glass noodles, prawns, chilli dressing, mango, tomato, lime, cucumber, peanuts, crispy onions and herbs.
Terminal 3, Concourse A and B.

Hard Rock Cafe
What’s spring without a spring roll? Okay, we’re not sure the two have ever gone together before, but the veggie spring rolls at Hard Rock Cafe are actually a decent light option at this eatery, better known for wings and rings. Stuffed with spinach, black beans, corn, jalapenos and mixed cheese and served with a guacamole chipotle dressing, there’s just enough kick to set you on your way.
Terminal 3, Concourse B.

Jones the Grocer
Always a welcome sight when travelling, Jones the Grocer at DXB serves up some springtime favourites. Why not try the char-grilled harissa chicken, spicy and succulent, sitting on a bed of north African couscous salad and red pepper mayo emulsion?
Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, Concourse A and B.

S34
This cute café isn’t all cakes and pastries. Pick up a fattoush or tabbouleh salad and enjoy feeling just that little big smug while everyone around you tucks into oversized croissants. Fattoush comes as it should, with red radish, romaine lettuce, capsicum, zaatar leaves, mint, parsley, watercress, tomato, pomegranate, crispy bread, sumac and garlic dressing. Delish.
Terminal 3, Concourse C.

The Hangar
This is your hangout for salad season, from classic Greek to Caesar. The latter is fresh but filling, with romaine hearts, beef bacon, croutons, shaved parmesan and dressing. It’s all about oodles of dressing with salad, right?
Terminal 3, Concourse B.

Treehouse Juicery
The yoghurt acai bowl, all purples and pinks, is the perfect fresh pick-me-up at any time of day. Dive into acai, strawberry, blackberry, chia seeds, cashew nuts, beetroot, yoghurt, goji, dried cranberry, and granola.
Terminal 3, Concourse A and B.

Wanna Poke
With its neon lights, concrete floor and massive planters, Wanna Poke is somewhere you wanna take time to chill out at. Choose from four poke bowls, including our favourite, the yuzu – lomi lomi salmon, with salmon cubes, avocado, snow peas, red cabbage, zesty ginger, sesame mayo and pomegranate. Nutritious and delicious.
