We don’t need to tell you that we have a lot of screen time. From TVs to computers, tablets to phones, we’re never far from that tell-tale blue light. But for once we’re not here to tell you to take a screen break (you can save that for the plane, eye masks: on). On the contrary, we’re here to tell you just how easy your digital journey at DXB can be. And in an age where contactless and social distancing are buzzwords, we think you’ll find this handy guide very useful indeed. So get ready to digitalise your pre-flight journey and relax.
Check in, from home…
Ready to make your journey even speedier? Take advantage of Emirates’ home check-in service. Powered by DUBZ, dnata’s baggage technology and logistics company, the service is also available for customers flying with all other airlines departing from Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
… Or use contactless self-check in and bag drop
Emirates self-check-in and bag drop, which launched late last year in DXB, upgraded further this year, becoming touchless, for your smart contactless journey. There are 32 self-service bag drop machines and 16 check-in kiosks, which can all be controlled by personal mobile devices without touching the screens; providing a safe and convenient airport experience. Plus, there are now six new self check-in and bag drop kiosks in the First and Business Class area. The kiosks allow customers to check-in, receive their boarding pass, choose seats on board and drop off their bags. New services have also been added to allow passengers to make payments for other purchases, such as additional baggage allowance, directly at the kiosks. Some restrictions apply, so double check on your destination.

Dubai Duty Free offers a click and collect service, so you know exactly what you’re going to get, and it’s ready for you to pick it up when you arrive. Can’t get much simpler than that.

Go through the Smart Gates
Make your journey faster by using DXB’s Smart Gates. It’s simple – and you can get through the gates simply by looking in the green light – with no documents or scanning needed. The service is available to all UAE Nationals and GCC Nationals and UAE residents, as well as visa on arrival guests with biometric passports. You need to be registered to use the Smart Gates. All guests who have recently arrived at DXB are likely to have been registered when they entered the immigration touchpoint.

Easy.
