2019 award winners
Last night, Dubai Airports honoured the contributions of its airlines, concessionaires and business partners in improving the airport experience at DXB and DWC. Scroll through to see all the winners during the evening of celebration at Soho Beach, Dubai.
Indigo
The first award of the night, in the category of Partnership, went to IndiGo. This airline is continuously proactive and pushing for quick aircraft turnarounds and efficiency. For instance, it actively volunteered to support DXB’s common check-in concept with its inaugural flight.
Candylicious
Sweet news for Candylicious – they picked up the night’s second Partnership award. In its first year at DXB, this huge candy store in Terminal 3 has proved to be an incredible partner, working on DXB branded goods, personalised products, giveaways and promotions.
Cathay Pacific
The award for Customer Service – Airline went to Cathay Pacific, an airline which consistently receives positive passenger feedback from Dubai Airports’ customers. There have been multiple instances where this airline’s representatives have gone above and beyond to assist passengers.
McDonald’s
The night’s second prize for Customer Service went to McDonald’s. Recent initiatives include adding customer service points, providing more seating options, introducing preorder kiosks in multiple languages – including Mandarin – and rolling out a table service option.
AirFrance-KLM
Picking up the airline’s award for Sustainability was AirFrance-KLM. Listed at the top of the Dow Jones sustainability index, this airline’s commitment to reduce its footprint is driven by initiatives such as water saving, recycling, reducing noise footprint, biofuel programmes, awareness sessions and tree-planting.
JCDecaux
The second winner in the category of Sustainability was JCDecaux. This exclusive advertising partner was instrumental in helping Dubai Airports reduce its energy consumption by replacing all 422 of its lightboxes across DXB and DWC with LED backlights instead of fluorescent tubes.
Emirates
Emirates was the airline that picked up the prize for Innovation. Passengers at DXB can expect fewer delays with aircraft turnaround thanks to a new innovative application introduced by this airline called the ‘Hub Monitor’, among other initiatives.
Travelex
The second winner for Innovation was Travelex, which has reinvented the concept of employee reward and recognition through its ‘gamification’ programme. This led to improvements across the board in customer satisfaction and transactions.
Middle East Airlines
Picking up the night’s first award for Excellence in Operation was Middle East Airlines. This airline clearly showed a commitment to excellence across all customer touchpoints, demonstrating an impressive level of engagement on a daily basis.
Hard Rock Cafe
Winner of Excellence in Operation – Concession was Hard Rock Cafe, a venue that has struck a chord with DXB’s customers thanks to its tasty food, excellent service and rocking atmosphere.
Time Out DXB
The Special Contribution award went to Time Out DXB – a free monthly airport magazine like no other, which shines a spotlight on the incredible experiences at DXB and in Dubai.
Elizabeth Nightingale
The first Pride and Dedication Award went to Elizabeth Nightingale from British Airways, a pillar in the local aviation community whose commitment and dedication is always on display.
Adam Page
The final prize of the night – the second Pride and Dedication award – went to Adam Page from Travelex, who has demonstrated an exceptional commitment and has made a major contribution to improving customer service.
